Are your students learning basic ake family of words?
Standard word search puzzles contain words hidden in a grid with the list of words provided. This puzzle does not show the list. Students are expected to locate the words hidden in the grid, which requires basic knowledge of ake family words. Once students find these words, they are to write the list below the grid.
Assessment of students' learning of basic ake family words might look something like this:

2. Next, provide that same list in scrambled form with the unscrambled equivalents in the puzzle
