Books of the Bible-Word Maze-08

Looking for educator lesson plan resources for books of the Bible? Here is the second of 3 word maze puzzles that have a list of 19 words, where the word clue letters are scrambled! This word maze puzzle is a word search puzzle with word clues hidden in the grid. The list of Bible books is connected by the letter paths created by the word clues. When the letter paths are connected, they create a maze. Hence the name, word maze puzzle. There is an added challenge of scrambled letter clues. This increases the complexity of this puzzle and is a great for supporting differentiated classrooms.

Use these steps to solve this puzzle:
1. unscramble the letters to reveal the list of words hidden in the grid
2. find the circled letter, which is the starting point for the first path line
3. trace the letter path of the hidden word (path lines can travel up/down, forwards/backwards)
4. as the letter path of this word is found, locate the starting letter of the next word and continue tracing its path line
5. repeat steps 3 and 4 until letter paths for all words are complete (remember path lines go up/down, forwards/backwards and the path lines do NOT cross)
6. remember to track progress by drawing a line through each word clue

Here are additional ideas for using puzzles in the classroom:
1. use puzzles to introduce a themed unit
2. put the words in alphabetical order
3. have students create their own word search puzzles to share with friends and solve
4. organize the list of words using a variety of criteria (e.g. person/place/thing)
