Hidden words teacher resource for July 4th. Use puzzle to help create a cooperative and collaborative learning classroom: students work together to solve the puzzle.

Other puzzle activities to augment programming: put words in alphabetical order; students can create a newspaper report using 5Ws and How questioning technique; integrate puzzle vocabulary into STEM and/or STEAM; use Frayer Model graphic organizer to explore each word.

Solve the puzzle by first locating words hidden in the grid. Next, circle the letters in the grid. Then, record the word in the space at the bottom of the page.

Puzzle supports vocabulary building, consolidating of spelling, activates problem solving skills while helping to foster independent, self-directed learners.
