-locate words hidden in the grid (supports visual acuity/engages critical thinking skills)
-remember that most word search puzzles have letter paths that travel in multiple directions (use previous experience with word search puzzles)
-trace the letter paths (identify the words)
-circle the letter paths (identify the words)
-track progress until all hidden words are found (reduces possible words)
-record the list of hidden words in the space below the grid (record information)
-solve the puzzle with a friend (collaboration/cooperation)
-have multiple copies of the puzzle and have many students working to locate the hidden words (collaboration/cooperation)
-locate at least one word in the puzzle by checking the puzzle solution (not recommended) (last resort strategy)
