This St. Patrick's Day cryptograms puzzle challenges students problem solving skills. Cryptograms can be quotes and sentences that are alphabet encoded. To solve the cryptogram, the code must be decrypted. Use the chart at the top of the puzzle to record the letter substitutions. Cryptograms are great brain teasers as they require knowledge of word structure, context and expressions. There are no hints in these cryptic puzzles, which adds to the challenge. Use with students in grade 3-8 classrooms and home schools, using differentiated instruction to support earlier grades.
Puzzles are available in both PDF and Google apps versions. Supports distance learning.
