Wordangles With a Twist!

Are you a teacher looking for lesson plan activities and resources for St. Patrick's Day? This unique word search puzzle has 2 twists to its solution! A scrambled letters twist PLUS some words have a right angled turn in their letter paths. The other challenge is in the word list itself: there are some 2- or 3-word word clues, BUT, the scrambled letters do not always represent the number of letters in each word. For example: the letters in 'pot of gold' may be scrambled to look like: toog opdlf

To solve this brain teaser:
-rearrange the letters to reveal the words hidden in the grid
-record the correct spelling for each word to help with solving the puzzle
-locate the circled letter: these letter hints are the first letter in each word
-trace the letter paths
-remember that most words have a right hand turn in their letter paths

Other lesson plan ideas:
l. use this unique wordangle puzzle to introduce St. Patrick's Day
2. use the list of words as writing prompts for journal writing, narratives, poetry, play writing
3. have students arrange the scrambled word clues alphabetically or reverse alphabetically
