Hidden Word Search

Are you looking for Educator resources about Declaration of Independence? Here is a word search puzzle that has 15 words hidden in the grid. To solve the puzzle, there are 2 steps. First, locate each word in the grid. Next, record the word in the space provided.

This challenges the brain because the puzzle solver needs to draw about knowledge of the topic, letter patterns and word patterns to uncover the words in the grid. This activates problem solving strategies as the brain need to compare what it already knows, with what it 'sees' in the grid.

Once the list of 15 words has been found, here are some other lesson plan activities to extend student learning:
l. put the words in alphabetical order
2. discover the history behind the word (or person/concept)
3. have students create their own word search puzzles to exchange with friends and family to solve (Here is the link to our: Blank Word Search Grids
