Here is a hidden letters word search puzzle that includes a list of 20 space words hidden in the grid. Letter hints are provided. Below are a number of choice board activity ideas to creatively support programming. Activities can be completed either online/offline or both, depending on the idea. Activities also support distance, blended and differentiated learning. Puzzle is suitable for students in grades 4,5,6, home schools, and as a tutoring resource.

Solve the puzzle:
-brainstorm possible earth space words hidden in the grid
-locate the circled letter
-use the circled letters to start the letter path trace for each hidden word
-record progress by printing each word in the space provided below the grid
Choice board activities:
l. ACTIVATE problem solving strategies by having kids solve a problem, similar to the What If? questions. For example: pretend that the orbit for each planet changed. What would that look like? What effect would that have on the solar system as we know it? What problems might occur and how might they be solved?
2. IGNITE students' imaginations and creativity by getting kids to create a music playlist from their favorite tunes. Create a photo presentation using space images and combine it with space words.
3. FOSTER and SUPPORT innovation by getting kids to engineer a new model for: telescope, tripod (to take pictures using a camera), space station, space lab, rocket. Remember to include: materials used; procedure; problems and solutions encountered; reflections of the process, the model and any other thoughts they had during the construction; labels and next steps.
4. ACTIVATE problem solving strategies by encouraging kids to create puzzles of all types: crosswords, scrambled letters, matching puzzles, or word search puzzles using blank templates (see links below).
