Properties of matter are the characteristics of matter (solids, liquids, gases), such as: weight/mass, odor (stinky, sweet, acrid), size (small, large), color, texture (smooth, rough, crinkly, soft), melting and boiling points, temperature, hardness/softness, volume, taste (sweet, sour, bitter, crunchy), sound (noisy, quiet), look (shiny, dull, translucent, transparent, opaque)
Solve the puzzle
l. rearrange the letters to reveal the words hidden in the grid; print the correct spelling
2. locate the circled letter, |l|; this is where the word maze starts
3. trace the letter paths for the first word; letter paths travel forwards/backwards/up/down/diagonally in all 8 directions
4. determine the next word in the puzzle by reviewing and comparing letters of the unscrambled word clues with the letters surrounding the end of the first word
5. continue tracing letter paths until the maze is complete; letter paths DO cross
6. track progress by crossing off each word as it is located
