Are you looking for fun, interactive educator lesson plan activities and resources for Earth Space? This word search puzzle includes a list of 20 space words hidden in the grid. Choice board activity ideas, found below, include a number of creative ideas to support distance, blended and differentiated learning. Puzzle is suitable for students in grades 4,5,6, home schools and as a tutoring resource.

Puzzle is available in both downable for printing format and by clicking on the Google apps link to copy the file to the computer for the Google apps version.

To solve the puzzle first, locate words hidden in the grid. Then, trace, or circle, the letter path and finally, remember to track progress by checking off each word as it is found in the grid.

Choice board activities:
l. ENGAGE creativity by encouraging kids to ask, What if/What would happen if? questions using the list of words as clues. For example: what would happen if a meteorite escaped from its orbit and landed on __________ ? What if the earth had no moon?
2. IGNITE students' imaginations by getting kids to create a treasure map using some of the space words (e.g. observatory, through a meteorite, celestial body)
3. FOSTER innovation by getting them to engineer a model for their ideal observatory
