Black History Month

Black History Month (BHM) category of puzzles supports and complements home school and classroom curriculum. Puzzle types include: word searches, word search-like puzzles (wordangle puzzles, word maze puzzles), crossword puzzles, crossword-like puzzles (crosspatch, freeform puzzles).

There are so many reasons for using puzzles in the classroom! They support brain health and foster a cooperative and collaborative classroom as students work together to solve the puzzle. Puzzles complement ongoing curriculum while activating problem solving skills. Fine motor skills development are supported as students complete word searches, crossword puzzles, cryptograms, mazes and any puzzle requiring printing, matching, drawing.

Probably another less well known benefit of puzzles in the classroom is how they support visual acuity. Students discern the combination of letters in the grid that form the word clues.
